How We Helped Data Voice Move from a Legacy MYOB System to a Scalable Simpro + Xero Setup

When a company’s technology no longer supports its growth, it’s time to evolve. That’s exactly what Data Voice—a well-established Australian provider of voice and data networking solutions—faced after more than a decade on a legacy MYOB system.

Their trusted system had served them well, but it was reaching its limits. Everything—operations, finance, payroll—was stored in one server-based platform. As the company grew nationally, it became harder for employees to work efficiently, for management to access insights, and for the business to scale.

They needed a modern, flexible system. But they also needed one that didn’t disrupt years of historical data.

The Challenge: Don’t Lose the Past, While Building for the Future

Data Voice’s biggest hurdle wasn’t just changing systems—it was safely moving years of critical data to new platforms, without losing context or performance.

They wanted to:

  • Replace the aging MYOB system

  • Ensure finance and job data were migrated cleanly

  • Give their team access to both historic and active job information

  • Avoid starting from scratch or losing valuable records

The Solution: Simpro + Xero + Aloka’s Migration Tool

We worked closely with the Data Voice team and Simpro consultants to map out a smart, phased migration. After extensive testing, we chose Simpro for job and operations, and Xero for finance and payroll.

Using our Aloka Migration Tool, we:

  • Split the data into operational (jobs) and financial (accounts, payroll) categories

  • Migrated all invoices, bills, credits, payments, and payroll data to Xero

  • Migrated all past, current, and in-progress jobs to Simpro

  • Ensured both platforms were fully aligned, without any data loss or mismatch

The key? A tailored migration strategy that preserved what mattered—and built a stronger foundation for the future.

Today, Data Voice runs their entire national operation across Simpro and Xero—with all the data they need, exactly where it belongs. Their staff works more efficiently, their management has better insights, and the business is now future-ready.
